hawaii
Played with Gary Player and Dave Barr on Sunday, and even though I didn't play any better, had an interesting and fun day. My ball striking was just not very good, but really feel good about the putting. Gary is an icon, and was very positive and talkative and Dave is just a good friend.
Laurie and I got back into Idaho on Monday morn, and I will try and get with Dave Bartels, and work on some things. I think the fact that I practiced into a hard left to right wind all week, created some bad habits.
Heading to Florida on Sunday, and will get to work on a better swing.

hawaii round 2
Another 74 today. But I played the back nine in a couple of under par. I was much more comfortable today. And I had to tell Larry Nelson (US Open and PGA winner) that he had taken a bad drop. Fellow competitors have a responsibility to protect the rest of the field, but let me tell you it took some doing to tell Larry my opinion. He was very gracious, we called an official and I was right. He handled the extra two stokes very well. I found something on the practice tee, and am going to have a good round tomorrow.
Here is an article that was in the Idaho Daily Statesman: Golf Plus - The Idaho Statesman - Always Idaho
Thanks again for the kind words. Scott.

hawaii round one
CATTY REPORT, Pre Tee time Jan 27th 10:00am
Here is a quick update of the last few weeks from my perspective and the secret to Scott’s pre golf warm-up routine.
“Thank Goodness this day has arrived.” I have been living with a 9 year old who robbed the candy store and didn't get caught or I married the little kid from the movie A Christmas Story who was waiting for X-MAS to arrive so he could finally get his Red Rider rifle.
When Scott came home from Q-School with a card we had a great party, tons of fun only wish you were there with us. Still, everything we knew in our world was about to change. I went to bed hoping I could handle it all. Scott had been gone nearly three weeks and that was only the beginning. I was rudely reminded that the more things change the more they stay the same. That thought occurred to me at 1:00 am when I staggered into the bathroom and landed my butt in a stone cold wet toilet. Yep, my Man was back and I can handle anything.
The weeks have gone very slowly since then. The anticipation has been excruciating for both of us, as you can only imagine. So here we are on the North Shore and it is all about to begin.
I – ME –LLBoogs, the one and only Catty even did an interview.
Yup, it’s true. Scott mysteriously left the room (out of fear) when he herd me tell the guy on the phone that I had signed up for the Catty job before I figured out that “golfers were ps” We could only imagine the headline. Whoops did I do that? Anyway I have a date with a hottie in a few minute so I gotta go, If your still wondering about the pre warm-up routine secret. It is listening to ABBA full blast on the I pod while sprawled across a very uncomfortable vintage rattan couch.. No kidding I could hear the words to Take a chance on me from across the room…
Finally lets all hope Scott has a little better luck with his Red Rider aka (golf clubs) than the Little kid in Christmas Story. That kid was very talented at getting himself out of a pickle. I’m confident that Scott can do that too should he land in a sand trap or worse. That movie did have a happy ending…I love that.. Catty…Wednesday, January 25, 2006
argus interview
-Have you set a personal goal for the course?
this week, i would really like to just relax and play each shot as well as i possibly can. and to not let ANYTHING bother me. get in contention and have a good finish.
The season?
i would like to continue to improve my golf game, get in contention and see how my game reacts to that pressure and learn from every experience, whether good or bad.
-What do you feel will be your strength on this particular course?i'm putting the ball exceptionally well right now and love the greens.
Weakness?
i don't have as much experience chipping the ball out of the bermuda grass rough. it is hard to read the lies, and predict how the ball will react. i'm going to practice that a lot the next couple of days.
-Are you nervous?not really, a little anxious to see how i'm going to perform. i've not played competitively since the end of november, so i'll be a little edgy on the first tee friday. but all in all, i'm confident and i'm ready to go.
-Does this seem any different than the other tournaments you have golfed?no, i've played in 13 of these tournaments over the last 4 years, and they are all run the same, so i'm comfortable with the schedule.
-Tell me about your PGA experience so far.i've really improved my game over the last 4 years, and the level of competition has certainly motivated me to work to continue toimprove. i am still getting better, and am looking forward to having a chance to compete at this level every week.
-How long have you been in Hawaii?my wife, laurie and i have been here since sunday. steve brown, the golf nut of the year www.golfnuts.com is caddying for me, he is a real good friend, and will help me stay relaxed.
-Where do you plan to golf next?the tour goes to florida in middle of february.
